Mercedes car and gold stolen in housebreaking

There have been further break-ins in Fife this week with Asian gold again the target and a high value care also stolen.

Police believe a spate of recent break-ins in Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Dunfermline and Dalgety Bay are linked.

Between 5pm and 5.40pm on Tuesday, a house in Dean Park Court, Kirkcaldy, was entered and Asian gold jewellery was stolen along with cash and a silver Mercedes E220 car with the registration number SL14EZH.

The same night, between 6.30 pm and 7.40 pm, another house was broken into in Eardley Court, Glenrothes.

Large quantities of jewellery and some cash were again stolen during this offence.

Since August, police have dealt with several break-ins in the Hollybrae and Rowanbrae areas of Kirkcaldy.

However, Dunfermline, Dalgety Bay and Glenrothes have also been targeted during this time and it is strongly suspected that these crimes are linked.

Detective Inspector Paul Dick said, “Once again we have seen homes being broken into with the intention of stealing Asian gold from homeowners and during these latest housebreakings, a high value vehicle has also been stolen.”
