New McDonald’s drive-thru set to open in Fife

A new McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant is opening in Fife tomorrow.

The new outlet in Riverside Road in Leven is introducing new ways to order food via an app and has created 127 jobs in the area.

Franchisee Jimmy Patrick, who now owns and operates five McDonald’s restaurants across Fife and Perth, said, “I’m thrilled to be opening this new restaurant in Leven and welcoming customers into the restaurant.

“McDonald’s is committed to harnessing digital innovation to provide our customers with the food they want, when and how they want it.

“I’m proud to be able to offer customers more choice as to how they enjoy their McDonald’s experience with this new digital store and the introduction of the My McDonald’s app. I look forward to hearing what they think.”

The My McDonald’s App allows customers to order and pay for their meal ahead of time.

The app sends a notification to the kitchen as soon as customers are within 100m of the restaurant, meaning all orders are prepared fresh on arrival.

Customers can choose to take their meal at the counter, have it delivered to a table or even collect from the drive-thru. The app also allows customers to save their favourite orders and customise burgers, as well as offering users the chance to collect digital McCafé loyalty points.

The digitalisation of the restaurant also makes table service possible.
