Youth in court after 12-year-old boy assaulted at school

A 16-year-old youth has appeared in court following a violent incident at a Fife high school.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted that on 24^th August at Inverkeithing High School, Hillend Road, he assaulted a boy then aged 12 by forcibly striking his head whereby it hit against a metal railing to his injury.

He also admitted that in Inverkeithing on the following day he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, repeatedly making abusive remarks and threatening police officers with violence.

Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports and the youth will be sentenced on 8^th August.
