Fife woman sets up new speed dating service

A new dating service is being set up for Fifers aiming to go back to face-to-face conversations rather than using on-line sites.

‘A92: Dating Differently in Fife’ will hold its first event in Kirkcaldy later this month.

It is the idea of Zoe Henderson, from Leven, who had to travel to Edinburgh when she was single and attending speed dating nights with friends.

She said, “We couldn’t find any singles nights to attend in Fife so had to go through to Edinburgh.

“I decided that Fife needed some other forms of dating and what better way than to join up the whole of Fife.

“The idea of A92 takes people off the apps and back to the traditional ways meeting like-minded singles face to face.

“People often get caught up in text messaging relationships which so here at A92 we cut the initial texting out and get single people together for fun, relaxed singles days and nights.”

The first speed dating event is on the 21st February in O’Connell’s Bar and Grill, Kirkcaldy. Tickets are £12 and this includes a drink on arrival.

Tickets can be purchased through messaging A92 Dating Differently in Fife on Facebook or emailing A92datinginfife@yahoo.com.

One person already signed up to take part said, “I’m fed up chatting to men that either stand me up once we finally agree to meet or are nothing like the person they portrayed over text.

“It can be really demotivating when you put effort into chatting and then you’re let down. I’m hoping A92 will help me meet some interesting men that I might not normally consider.”

This is a brilliant idea as I am fed up with Online Dating as you don’t know who is “real” or “fake”! I like the idea of meeting someone “face to face” and chatting! Do you plan to hold a Singles Evening in Glenrothes?
