Fife schoolgirl in “critical” condition after being knocked down

 

A 12-year-old girl is in a “critical” condition after sustaining serious head, chest and leg injuries when she was struck by a car in Kennoway.

The accident happened in Sandy Brae at around 7.15pm last night.

The girl was struck by a silver Ford Mondeo which was travelling northbound.

She was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and transferred to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

Sergeant Ewan Pearce, of road policing, appealed for witnesses to come forward to help accident investigations.

The road was closed for around five hours after the incident.
