Fife drugs dealer and producer jailed for 27 months

A Fife drugs dealer was found with over £12,000-worth of cannabis under his bed. 

A  cannabis cultivation was then found in Henry Fisher’s attic. 

Fisher (49), of Woodbank, Cowdenbeath, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. 

He admitted that on 22^nd April 2016 at his home he was concerned in the supplying of cannabis resin to others. He also admitted producing cannabis at his home. 

Depute fiscal Louise Graham said police had obtained a search warrant and carried it out at 9.10am. 

They were allowed in by Fisher who quickly told officers there were bars of cannabis under the bed in his bedroom. 

These bars were recovered by officers and later found to have an estimated value of £12,600. 

Drugs-related items such as scales and bags were also found in the house as were large sums of cash. 

In the attic, there was a hydroponics set-up with three large cannabis plants along with 11 immature ones with a potential street value of over £1900. 

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said her client had needed money and “made an extremely foolish decision out of desperation”. 

Sheriff Craig McSherry said, “This was a sophisticated, calculated drugs set-up.” He also pointed out that Fisher had previously been jailed for a similar offence. 

He jailed Fisher for 27 months and ordered forfeiture of the drugs and cash seized.
