Customers left feeling “drouthy” after restaurant’s closure

A Fife bar and restaurant, which promoted its vouchers as the perfect Christmas gift, has closed its doors before customers had the chance to spend them there.

The Drouthy Fox in Dunfermline’s Guildhall Street has been closed since the start of the New Year, which came as a shock to staff and customers.

The bar’s website says, “due to operational issues Drouthy Fox will no longer be trading”.

The closure was confirmed via social media by staff who say they have still to be paid for working over the festive period.

In the run-up to Christmas, the bar was heavily promoting its discounted gift vouchers.

The website says, “Customers who purchased vouchers, please contact Paypal, itison, Groupon or 5pm to request a refund. Please email drouthyfox@gmail.com for refund if vouchers were purchased in the restaurant.”

Drouthy Fox, previously known for decades as ‘Somewhere Else’, only opened under its new name and new tenants last year.
