Killer mum who dumped son’s body in Fife out enjoying shopping trips
A murdering mum who killed her three-year-old boy is out on the streets enjoying shopping trips just four years after being jailed.
Tragic toddler Mikaeel Kular was attacked and beaten to death by his mum Rosdeep Adekoya who dumped his body in Kirkcaldy.
Adekoya (38) had lost her temper and killed the toddler after he was sick in their Edinburgh home.
She wrapped his body in a duvet cover, put it in a suitcase and drove to Fife to dump it in woodland behind her sister’s home.
A major search was launched for the youngster after his murderer called 999 and reported him missing in an effort to conceal the crime.
She later broke down and admitted to police, “It was an accident and I panicked.”
In August 2014, Adekoya was jailed for 11 years at the High Court in Edinburgh.
She has now been allowed on trips outside of jail amid reports that she will soon be formally released.
Adekoya has been photographed out of prison on shopping trips, travelling on public transport and studying at the library in Stirling.
It is understood she has been granted temporary freedom ahead of a full release that could be approved next year.
Adekoya had originally been charged with murder but admitted the reduced charge of culpable homicide.
She also admitted attempting to defeat the ends of justice by pretending to police that Mikaeel had gone missing.
She repeatedly punched her son and causing his body to hit against a hard object or inflicting blunt injuries on his head and body between 12th and 15th January 2014 at their home in Edinburgh.
