Boy (14) charged after “attempted murder” incident in Fife

Five teenagers, one aged just 14, have been charged following an incident in Fife which is being treated by police as attempted murder.

Officers were called to a disturbance in the West Way area of Hillend Industrial Estate, Dalgety Bay, at around 9.40pm on Thursday.

Two men, aged 41 and 57, were found to have sustained serious injuries.

A 14-year-old youth was due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today facing a charge of attempted murder. However he will now appear on a future date as will three 15-year-old males and a 15-year-old female.

All five have also been charged in connection with the assault of a 63-year-old man during the same incident.

Sergeant Kate Blackwell, from Dalgety Bay Police Station, said, “The level of violence and aggression used during the attack of these three men was horrendous and entirely unacceptable.”
