Police hunt thugs who attacked man in town centre

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 61-year-old man was assaulted by a group of youths in Dunfermline town centre. He struck his head after being knocked over by the thugs.

The incident took place at 11.40pm on Thursday 16th March, as the man was walking at the back of Dunfermline Bus Station towards the taxi rank on Queen Anne Street.

The victim was assaulted by a group of youths, all aged around 16-years-old. They pushed him in the back, causing him to fall and strike his head.

During the assault the victim has heard a member of the public challenge the suspects, causing them to stop and leave the area.

Reporting officer, PC Andrew MacKay, of Dunfermline police station, is keen to trace any witnesses, in particular the member of the public who challenged the group.
