Man in court charged with sex assault on woman in park

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a woman in broad daylight in Dunfermline’s Pittencrieff Park.

Mattiuallah Sarfi, of no fixed abode, appeared in private on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court this afternoon, accompanied by a translator.

The alleged assault of the woman took place at 1.10pm on Sunday 30th April.

Sarfi made no plea, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Detectives in Dunfermline CID have thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.
