Fire breaks out at Fife nursing home

 

Fire service units have been called to a blaze at Forth Bay Nursing Home in Kincardine this afternoon.

The alarm was raised at around 3.25pm, the building was evacuated and all residents and staff have been accounted for.

Premises in the surrounding streets are also being evacuated as a precaution and a cordon is in place to ensure the safety of the public as the fire service work to bring the situation under control.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said, “A total of nine fire engines and two height appliances as well as a command support unit and fire investigation unit were immediately mobilised to the scene.

“Firefighters are presently working to bring the fire under control using powerful water jets.

“There are no confirmed casualties.”

Pedestrians and motorists are asked to avoid the area and are thanked for their co-operation at this time.
