“Attempted murder” by driving vehicle at man

 

A Fife man has appeared in court accused of attempting to murder another male by driving at him, striking him then reversing at him.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in Murray Knowe, Cardenden, on Sunday.

Kyle Campbell (20), of Links Street, Kirkcaldy, appeared from custody on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He is accused of assaulted a man by driving a vehicle at him.

It is alleged he mounted the pavement and struck him, then reversed at him attempting to strike him again, all to his injury and attempted to murder him.

Campbell faces further charges. It is alleged that, also on Sunday, at High Street, Kirkcaldy, he assaulted the same man by punching him on the face.

Kerry McAndrew (29), of the same address in Links Street, Kirkcaldy, also appeared in court and along with Campbell is accused of assaulting a woman in Cardenden.

Both accused made no plea and were committed for further examination. Bail was granted.
