FIFE MAN ON MURDER CHARGE

A 26-year-old man has appeared at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court charged with murder.

This follows the death of a two-month-old baby boy in Fife.

Ryan Lumsden, from Glenrothes, is accused of killing the infant last month.

The baby was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy after falling unwell at an address in Glenrothes and subsequently died.

Lumsden has appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to face a murder charge.

He made no plea and the case was committed for further examination. Lumsden was released on bail.

Police Scotland have said that at around 3pm on Sunday 27th July they received a report of a baby having died at the Victoria Hospital after earlier becoming unwell at an address in Glenrothes.
