Drug dealer caught in Fife car stop is jailed for 30 months

A 49-year-old man has been jailed for drug dealing in Kirkcaldy.

Wai Ying Sung, recently living in Toddhill Road, Kirkliston, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on 3rd August 2014, at Beatty Crescent, Kirkcaldy, he was concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, amphetamine.

The court heard he had two analogous convictions, one in the High Court.

Depute fiscal Claire Bremner said, “At 3.30am police officers saw a vehicle travelling well below the speed limit.

“The officers suspected the driver may have been drinking and stopped the car.”

Sung was the passenger and when the vehicle was searched officers found £825 in cash, several mobile phones and a quantity of amphetamine with a potential street value of £1810.

Text messages on the seized phones contained inquiries from customers about buying drugs.

Sheriff Craig McSherry jailed Sung for 30 months.
