FIFE NURSE CLEARED OF MISCONDUCT IN CHANGING ROOM ROW

A nurse, who complained about sharing a changing room with a transgender doctor, has been cleared of gross misconduct following disciplinary proceedings by NHS Fife, her lawyer has confirmed.

Long-serving Sandie Peggie was suspended from her role last year after she objected to Dr Beth Upton, a transgender woman, using female facilities.

According to a statement released by campaign group Sex Matters, the nurse has been cleared of allegations of misconduct, failures of patient care and misgendering Dr Upton.

News of the decision came just ahead of the resumption of an employment tribunal raised by Ms Peggie against her employer.
