£93K FIFE DRUGS BUST: ALBANIAN ADMITS GROWING AND SELLING CANNABIS

A 28-year-old Albanian was caught running a cannabis farm in a house in Cowdenbeath.
Following the police raid, Muhamet Ismajlgeci, of no fixed abode, has appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court accompanied by a translator.
He admitted that on 15th January at a house in Barclay Street, Cowdenbeath, he was concerned in the supply of cannabis.
He also admitted facilitating the growth of cannabis plants by maintaining and supervising the operation.
The court was told there were 60 plants found in the house.
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said his client recognised a jail term would be inevitable, adding, “As well has having no fixed abode he also has no right to remain in the UK.”
Sheriff Susan Duff called for reports and Ismajlgeci was remanded in custody until sentencing on 12th February.
Police Scotland released a statement following the drugs bust saying, “Around 11.50am on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025, officers acting under warrant searched a property on Barclay Street, Cowdenbeath.
“A quantity of cannabis with an estimated street value of around £93,000 was seized.”
Sergeant John Nicol said: “This seizure is part of our ongoing efforts to tackle the supply of illegal drugs and disrupt criminal activity within our communities.”
