Fife man jailed for indecent images
A Dunfermline man has been jailed for child porn offences after being caught with over 100 images in the most serious category.
Alan Martin (46), of Brucefield Avenue, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He previously admitted that between 18th December 2017 and 1st February 2018 he was in possession of indecent images of children.
He also admitted that between these dates he downloaded indecent images of children.
Martin had 120 images in the most serious category ‘A’. These was made up of 39 movies and 81 still images.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said his client was “significantly socially isolated” and had “a particularly traumatic childhood.”
“He is genuinely disgusted with himself,” added the solicitor who claimed Martin could be “safely managed” with a community sentence.
However, Sheriff Simon Collins imposed a 10-month jail term. Martin was also put on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
