Child sex offender escapes with 42-month jail term
A pervert, who abused children in Fife over a four-year period, has been jailed for 42 months.
James Rennie (72), also known as Black, committed the sickening offences between 1977 and 1981.
The OAP, who lives in Edinburgh, has also been registered indefinitely as a sex offender.
The abuse took place in the Tayport area between 1977 and 1981 and was not reported to police until 2016.
Rennie was found guilty at Dundee Sheriff Court last month and has now been jailed.
Detective Constable Kenny Watt, of Fife’s Public Protection Unit, said, “Rennie’s conviction is due to the courage and strength of the victims in coming forward and I hope that a prison sentence has helped to give them some sense of closure.”
