Missing boy (9) found after major search in Dunfermline

A major police search was launched to find a missing child in Dunfermline this afternoon.

Nine-year-old Harley McLay wandered off from the Asda supermarket at the Halbeath Retail Park at around 12.30 this afternoon.

He has just been been found safe in the Aberdour Road area.

A large police presence could be seen in and around the busy supermarket and officers were seen searching areas near Queen Margaret Hospital as the hunt widened.

The force’s helicopter from Glasgow was also summoned.
